Considerations for Treating Inadvertent Benzodiazepine Use and Opioid Use Disorder

By the end of this BC ECHO on Substance Use session, participants will be able to:
1) recognize the risks of harm from inadvertent exposure to benzodiazepines and Z-drugs (aka BZRAs) through the unregulated opioid supply,
2) discuss strategies for engaging clients in conversations about the risks of concurrent BZRA and opioid use, and 
3) describe approaches to designing a care plan for managing BZRA withdrawal while initiating opioid agonist treatment
