Brief Intervention for Alcohol Use in Primary Care

By the end of this BC ECHO on Substance Use session, participants will be able to:
1) describe screening approaches used in a primary care setting to identify high-risk drinking,
2) describe how to conduct a brief intervention for high-risk alcohol use using motivational interviewing techniques, and
3) identify when to refer to specialist services versus when to initiate treatment for alcohol use disorder in primary care
